Detour

A down-on-his-luck New York nightclub pianist hitchhikes cross-country to reunite with his girlfriend in Los Angeles, ends up with a dead body on his hands, and then makes the fatal mistake of picking up a hitchhiker of his own — Vera, played by Ann Savage as one of the most vicious femme fatales in the history of the form.
